Leader for Interdisciplinary Teen Arts Camp, 2018


Part-time, Mon - Fri, June 2018 - August 2018. Approximately 20-30 additional pre-camp planning hours will be required from January-May, 2018.

The Old Town School of Folk Music seeks a part-time Camp Leader, who will manage all day-to-day camp activities for Teen Arts Camp, lead the group in transitions, curate and manage the end-of-session showcases, and serve as a point person, mentor, and advocate for counselors, teachers, campers, and their parents.

The Teen Camp Leader may also have opportunities to manage, plan, and prepare for other Old Town School teen-focused activities and events, such as Teen Open Mic and Teen Advisory Council.

Skills & Qualifications: 


  • At least three years of experience teaching and leading teens in arts-based education.
  • At least three years of experience in arts administration or creative youth development.
  • Must be able to remain calm under pressure, solve problems as they arise, and be able to model professional behavior at all times.
  • Must take a leadership role in problem solving and ensuring the safety of all students.
  • Must be enthusiastic, energetic, and have excellent communication skills.
  • Must be extremely dedicated to team building and community engagement through the arts.
  • Experience supervising teachers and staff is required.
  • Bachelors degree in Education or an artistic discipline, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • A background of personal practice in the arts (e.g. music, spoken word, writing, filmmaking, dance, visual arts,
